Guided San Gimignano Hiking Wineries and Castles

San Donato Winery, San Gimignano
The Fenzi family has been making wine and olive oil on their farm outside of San Gimignano since 1932. In addition to wine they produce extra virgin olive oil and more recently organic saffron. Umberto Fenzi has named a wine after each of his children.

Castelvecchio Castle, San Gimignano
An abandoned castle reachable only by a 30-minute walk. The fortress was abandoned after the plague of the 15th century. Today you can explore the remains of a defensive tower, houses, shops and a Romanesque church. Castelvecchio was one of 20 castles which formed a defensive ring around San Gimignano..
